Experience shows that industrial production in China largely comes to a standstill around Chinese New Year. In 2026, Chinese New Year falls on Tuesday, 17 February, with the official holiday period (Spring Festival) running from mid-February until the end of February. During this period, production is fully suspended. In addition, the government will not process or review export license applications.

As a result, lead times for magnets and assemblies may be longer than usual.

This year, lead times may come under additional pressure due to the current export restrictions and associated licensing procedures. The longer lead times are mainly the result of a sharp increase in demand caused by the new regulations, pushing production capacity to its limits. Please note that transport remains stable, but delays may occur in production and customs processes, particularly for 7RE magnets.
To support our customers as effectively as possible, Bakker Magnetics has its own team in China that works closely with local suppliers. This team coordinates export licenses, monitors inventory levels, and actively tracks logistics processes. To date, no export license applications have been rejected, but longer lead times during this period cannot always be avoided.
Do you have a time-critical schedule? We recommend placing orders well in advance or planning additional inventory. If you would like to align expected lead times for a specific product or project, please contact your regular contact person at Bakker Magnetics.
